I'll Still be Here

I'll Still be Here

The death of the analog audio effects industry has been long foretold. The number one pedal sold on Reverb in 2024 wasa small inexpensive device meant to replace your pedals and amp. Some people used it to do just that. This is not wrong. This is the right answer for a lot of people. The first pedal I feel in love with was a digital multi-effects unit from the '90s designed for the bass, my main instrument at the time. I will never not smile when I think of that magical black and green box.

I have a degree in Computer Science and over a decade of experience working in Software Engineering. One day I may use my expertise to create digital effects. However, I know I  will always make analog effects in addition to anything else I may create. Why? Analog effects are fun. That's the only reason. I love sending electrons through a circuit that does not mean them well. Sometimes there will be orderly modulation, sometimes downright destruction.

One thing to count on is that I'll be here, waiting in the past for you to need me and my weird analog boxes that do their weird things to the electrons that you excite by plucking the strings—tickling the keys—chopping up the beats... screaming your meaning into the well and into the void
